Cut food waste
Cook what is already in before it turns. Use-soon sits at the top of the kitchen, not the back of the fridge.
The household kitchen
MealBase is the shared kitchen for people who live together. Scan the fridge, cook what is already in, waste less food, and shop the supermarket once — in the order you actually walk the store.

The list is the gaps. You stop buying a third bag of rice because nobody checked the pantry.
Suggestions use current stock only, so tonight is cooking — not another delivery because the cupboard felt empty.
Produce first, household last. No doubling back for the lemons, and no aisle you can skip because you already have it.
What it does
Scan
MealBase reads the labels. Stock goes into the fridge, freezer, pantry or spice rack. A photo of dinner logs calories for whoever ate it.
Inventory
See what you have by location, mark used or wasted, and stop buying a third bottle of soy sauce.
Tonight
Suggestions use current stock only — not a fantasy cupboard. Cook, and it comes off the inventory for everyone.
Shopping
Missing bits become a list ordered as you walk the supermarket — produce first, household last. Tick it off, scan the till, stock comes home.

Store walk
MealBase builds the list from what you do not have, then sorts it as you actually walk the store — produce at the door, cupboard in the middle, household last. Aisles you can skip stay off the list, so you spend less time, less money, and bring home less that will go off.
How it works
01
Open the fridge, a cupboard, or a receipt. MealBase files it by location so the household can see it.
02
Ask for dinners. You get meals you can actually make tonight. Cooking deducts the ingredients.
03
The list is the gaps, in supermarket aisle order. Finish the shop and the kitchen is whole again. You spend less because you are not buying what you already own.
From households
We used to open the fridge, stare, and order a takeaway. Now we scan the shelf on Sunday and actually cook what is in. The bin is quieter. So is the argument about who was meant to shop.
The join code is the whole point. My partner adds milk, I tick it off in the store, and nobody texts ‘do we have onions?’ from aisle four. The list walks the supermarket so I do not double back.
I was buying the same spices every month because I could not see the rack. Photographing the cupboard once saved more than the condiment aisle. Dinners come from stock, not from a recipe that assumes I own a mandoline.
